Plate and Frame Heat Exchanger Construction
WTSML industrial gasketed plate heat exchangers use a compressed pack of corrugated metal plates to create alternating passages for hot and cold fluids. Elastomer gaskets seal the flow channels and maintain the intended separation of the two circuits.
The number of plates, plate geometry, connection arrangement and frame configuration are selected around the thermal duty, allowable pressure drop and operating conditions.
- Configurable heat-transfer area and flow arrangements
- Removable plate pack for inspection and servicing
- Plate and gasket material selection by application
- Technical matching for replacement components
Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger Design Advantages
Flexible Thermal Selection
Channel configuration and plate count are evaluated using fluid properties, temperatures, flow rates and hydraulic limits.
Serviceable Plate Pack
Opening the gasketed plate pack permits approved inspection, cleaning and component replacement procedures.
Application-Based Materials
Plate alloy and gasket compound must suit the process fluid, cleaning chemistry, pressure and temperature.

WTSML Factory Environment
Equipment sourcing requires more than thermal specifications. Buyers should also confirm construction details, materials, inspection requirements, packing and the documentation applicable to their project.
WTSML factory images provide context for its equipment and component operations. The exact processes and tests used for an order should be agreed during technical review.
Information Required for Thermal Selection
Specify the two process fluids, flow rates, inlet and target outlet temperatures, allowed pressure drop per circuit, operating and design pressure, required materials, connections and available installation space.
Request an Industrial Plate Heat Exchanger Quotation
Send thermal operating conditions and any equipment drawings. For replacement enquiries, include the existing model, nameplate and connection layout.

Properly selected gasketed plate heat exchangers may be used for liquid heating, process cooling, HVAC water circuits and heat recovery. The gasketed design allows the plate pack to be opened for approved cleaning, inspection or component replacement.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. How is the BR model selected?
By thermal duty, fluid properties, allowable pressure drop and mechanical design requirements. The historical dimensions are a preliminary reference.
2. Are all BR models rated to 180°C?
No. The reference contains both 160°C and 180°C entries. Gasket and frame limits must also be checked.
3. Can plate quantity be modified?
Only where thermal, hydraulic, frame and mechanical constraints allow and the revised configuration is approved.
4. Which materials should be selected?
The plate alloy and gasket compound should be selected based on fluid chemistry, cleaning conditions and operating limits.
5. Can replacement components be matched?
Provide the model, original plate geometry, gasket groove, material and required quantity for review.
